Newtown Action Alliance Endorses Joe Biden for President for 2024 Elections

Newtown, CT - Newtown Action Alliance released the following statement after Joe Biden’s reelection announcement today:

“Newtown Action Alliance is proud to endorse Joe Biden for President in 2024. President Biden has done more than any other President in the last three decades to pass lifesaving gun legislation and sign executive actions to protect our children and loved ones from gun violence in all our communities.

“Gun violence is a public health crisis, due to the gun industry’s extreme and greedy Any Guns to Anyone Everywhere agenda. Guns are now the leading cause of death for American children and teens. Over one million Americans have been shot and there have been over 4500 mass shooting incidents since the Sandy Hook shooting tragedy in 2012. Now, 49,000 Americans are killed by all forms of gun violence in a single year.

“President Biden has demonstrated a personal connection with gun violence survivors,

consistently showing up for them when their families and communities are devastated by unimaginable shooting tragedies. In addition to signing executive orders, he has unapologetically pushed Congress to pass legislation to ban assault weapons, to require safe firearm storage, to establish universal background checks, and to repeal the gun industry legal shield. The majority of Americans already support these sensible policies.

“The choice is crystal clear. President Biden is not only fighting for the soul of our nation but for our lives. We must re-elect Joe Biden to finish the job on the efforts to end gun violence in America.”
